Eileen Gray

When I was in design school, my professor Carla Rogers’ favorite designer was Eileen Gray.  I soon understood why. Eileen Gray was an Irish architect and furniture designer who was a pioneer in the modern movement. She spent the majority of her life in Paris and various parts of France. Her furniture is simple, classic and refined. If you own one of her pieces, consider yourself lucky.

One of her most iconic designs was the Bibendum Chair. This chair was one of the 20th century’s most recognizable furniture designs.

Another one of her most famous designs was the E1027 Table
