Guana Island is a private island in the British Virgin Islands with deluxe accommodations! This place looks amazing and for what you get the price is quite reasonable. There are several villas and cottages to choose from and they also have some kids services and children’s weeks as well.  I totally love the BVI and this place makes it look even more amazing!

It’s that time of year again. Time when I am so tired of winter all I can do is think about warm sandy beaches. Shangri-La’s Boracay Beach Resort  has convinced me I need to move to warmer climates.  The hotel is situated on Boracay Island which was voted one of the world’s best islands according to Travel + Leisure and when you see photos of this island  you will know why. Amazing!

It’s SNOWING in Switzerland again. While I love snow just as much as the next skier, I am sick of winter…It’s been very, very cold and long and I am in need of sun!  And La Plage Casadelmar in Corsica, France looks like the perfect place to warm up! I love how the architecture blends into the landscape. Bravo!!

Islands of Copperfield Bay

I guess I maybe misjudged David Copperfield (not that I gave him much thought). I just figured he was a quirky magician and not much else. But having now read and looked at photographs about his resort  Islands of Copperfield Bay I am convinced that there is much more to David Copperfield than I imagined.  Bravo! This place looks amazing! Oh, how I long for the sun in cold, windy Switzerland!

Waterhouse on the Bund

I lived in Shanghai for 6 months, and while I am a bigger fan of Beijing than Shanghai, I will say that it is a very fun city with lots to do and great food. So when I saw Waterhouse on the Bund I was immediately intrigued. The design looks fabulous! I love how the designers mixed the very old with the very new. Fabulous idea to really capture China at it’s best.

Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses, Kaikoura, New Zealand

It’s every kid’s (and probably adults) dream to sleep in a tree house and The Hapuku Lodge and Tree Houses hotel on New Zealand’s south island is making that a reality. Guests can choose between 2 level family tree houses, a stand alone Olive suite apartment or the main lodge to fulfill their childhood fantasy . The hotel is located near Kaikoura, north of Christchurch, is a top location for spotting whales and dolphins.  Fun for the whole family!!!

Giardino Largo

The Giardino Largo on Lake Maggiore Switzerland is exactly what I have been looking for in a spring retreat when northern Switzerland is cold and gloomy. Here is what Design Hotels said about Giardino Largo.

“When Daniela and Philippe Frutiger started to design a property in Minusio/Locarno, on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore, they knew they had to do something exceptional to complement the setting. The solution was simple: rip up the rulebook of predictability and create a retreat that is understated yet indulgent. Clever design features, such as the 400-square-meter roof terrace, allow guests to make the most of the region’s Mediterranean climate, which is warmed by 2,300 hours of sunshine a year.

With only 14 rooms and one suite, the guest experience at Giardino Lago is engineered to offer maximum comfort and service – including fly-in transfers with the hotel’s private airline, Fly Giardino. Originality is also pulled off with élan in the kitchen, where signature dishes like Canadian bison and Angus beef are cooked in an infrared oven that heats up to 800°C.”
